War Child Canada and The Dakota Tavern are excited to announce another very special night of music, An Evening with Hunter Valentine, which will take place at The Dakota Tavern in Toronto on Monday April 19, 2010.  This exceptional night is part of Dakota Nights for War Child, a unique benefit concert series featuring intimate performances by celebrated artists, hosted by The Dakota Tavern and War Child Canada.  Doors will open at 8:00 pm and the show will begin at 9:00 pm.  All proceeds will support War Child Canada, a registered charity that provides humanitarian assistance to war-affected children in some of the most devastated regions of the world. Tickets for An Evening with Hunter Valentine are $15.00 and can be purchased at www.maplemusic.com.

Hailing from Toronto, Hunter Valentine is the sweet, punky all-girl rock band recently signed to one of New York City’s most famous indie labels, Tommy Boy. Raucous and direct, the trio is comprised of vocalist/guitarist Kiyomi McCloskey, bassist Adrienne Lloyd and drummer Laura Petracca.  The band got together in the summer of 2004 united by a mutual love of rocking out, and have since established a devoted fan base via their self-financed 2005 EP and their 2007 full-length album The Impatient Romantic (True North Records). Known for their high energy, electric shows, Hunter Valentine’s fan base quickly grew internationally, with constant touring in Canada and select cities in the U.S. and Europe, including performances at New York’s CMJ and the London Calling Festival in London, England.  Hunter Valentine are now poised to break through with their gripping new album Lessons From the Late Night (Tommy Boy/Fontana/Universal), which is set to be released on April 17th, 2010 in Canada and May 11th in the U.S. and worldwide. This special performance at The Dakota Tavern will also celebrate the band’s official album release and will feature tracks from their new CD.
